We had a week off to relax. Then we came back with a van full of wedding entertainment and a small telecommunications department.
Our last wedding fayre of 2026 took us to Wortley Hall on Sunday 1 November, joining Wedding Fayres Yorkshire from 11am until 2pm.
The journey was properly foggy, with the low sun trying its best to get through. A suitably atmospheric arrival for a November visit to Wortley Hall.
Our previous visit had been great, so we arrived hoping for another good day. This time, we wanted to give Magic Mobile a bit more attention.
We also knew the internet connection could be a challenge in the room.
Naturally, we had packed a router and long Wi-Fi aerials.
Some people bring leaflets. We appear to be branching into infrastructure.

Once we had found the entrance through the fog, it was time to get set up in the dining room. Back to gold frames, colourful props and seeing what people made of our latest experiences.
A week off, then back to this. Dean and Lisa at Wortley Hall.

The props were packed. So was an unusually determined approach to Wi-Fi.

First Job: Persuade the Wi-Fi
We were set up in the dining room, with Derbyshire Wedding Events next to us and Those Cherished Moments and Altered Images sharing the room.
Before the day got going, there was the small matter of putting the router idea to the test.
It worked.
Switching to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi link improved the connection, and the setup did its job throughout the event.
That is exactly why we like having options. Every venue is different, and a little preparation can make a useful difference when we get there.
A week of rest, followed by a Sunday spent finding a better wireless connection in a wedding venue. Apparently this is what refreshed looks like for us.
The day's talking point · Magic Mobile
A Photo Booth That Can Come to You
The clearest talking point for Magic Mobile was also the simplest: it moves around.
When couples picture a photo booth, they often imagine a fixed spot in the room. Magic Mobile gives them another possibility: a roaming experience that can come to the guests.
That flexibility caught people's attention at Wortley Hall. They could see the appeal of taking the fun around their wedding rather than having every photograph happen in the same place.
That was the encouraging part of the day for us: people picking up on what makes Mobile different and thinking about how it could fit into their own wedding.
The appeal was simple: take the fun to the guests.

A conversation worth remembering
Thundercats, a 45-Minute Chat and Two Possibilities
One visitor arrived wearing a Thundercats dress.
Already a strong start.
She stopped for a chat that lasted around 45 minutes, with interest in having Magic Mobile and Magic Mini together.
That was one of the conversations we came away feeling good about. There is time at a wedding fayre to go beyond the quick introduction and talk about how different experiences could fit into someone's plans.
It is an enquiry at this stage, with the decisions still to come. But it was a lovely conversation — and we are unlikely to forget the outfit.
Wedding planning with a side of Thundercats. We can work with that.
A Thundercats dress. An excellent conversation starter, as it turns out.

From photograph to character
The Outfits Made It Into the Cartoons, Too
The camera roll also tells another part of the day: the personalised caricatures. There is something particularly satisfying about seeing a photograph alongside the character it became.
Matthew's blue cap and character jumper gave his version plenty to work with. The finished illustration kept those details and added its own cheeky expression.

After: the cap, the jumper and a little extra cartoon attitude.

Lisa got the same treatment, with the striped jacket and blue outfit carrying through into her cartoon counterpart.

After: a cartoon counterpart, right down to the outfit.

These are the details we like: a recognisable outfit, a familiar face and a result with a bit of personality. A straightforward photo and something rather less straightforward to put beside it.
Apparently even our own team cannot escape becoming cartoons.
Around the Rooms at Wortley Hall
There was plenty to look at across the venue. Those Cherished Moments had stunning flowers, while Party Cakes Too brought a superhero cake that deserved a closer look.
Bianca was playing violin in the Clarke Boardroom, and the flowers around the staircase were another reason to stop with the camera.
Between the Thundercats dress and the superhero cake, anyone with a fondness for colourful characters was well catered for.

A Steadier Finish to the Fayre Season
Wortley Hall was a steadier day for us, with time for longer conversations. A couple of people seemed really pleased with what we showed them, and the interest in Mobile gave us something encouraging to take away.
For the record, 85 people came through the door, following 120 advance ticket bookings. We saw around 40 people at our stand and handed out 18 YWS books and 18 flyers.
We produced 21 prints: 10 from the Magic Mirror and 11 across Magic Mobile and Magic Mini combined.
We came away with a couple of encouraging conversations and a clearer sense of what people liked about Mobile. It was a quieter finish to the fayre season for us, with enquiries to follow up and a useful technical idea successfully tested.
And that brings our wedding fayres for 2026 to a close. The wedding-fayre kit can have a breather while we turn our attention to the events ahead.
The router may now consider itself a permanent member of staff.
