Craig & Jacqueline's Wedding at Fairfield Manor

On 29th August 2026, we headed through a properly wet Yorkshire evening to Fairfield Manor for Craig and Jacqueline's wedding, with the Magic Mirror booked for two hours from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.

Around 80 guests produced 95 instant prints, but the numbers are only part of this one. We ended up in an unexpected position in the bar, turned a pool table into a props table, added a Spider-Man design after the wedding had already started and had a new Fairfield Manor VenView tour live before we'd even packed away.

It was also our second consecutive wedding running the full Magic Mirror setup without using venue mains power.

A Very Rainy Arrival at Fairfield Manor

This was definitely one of those Yorkshire weddings where the windscreen told the story before we'd even reached the venue.

The rain followed us into Fairfield Manor, but once everyone was inside it didn't matter. Around 80 guests had an evening reception to get on with and, once the Magic Mirror opened, they didn't need much encouragement.

Sometimes the Best Position Isn't the Obvious One

Our expected setup area was being used for drinks, so wedding coordinator Beth helped us find an alternative position in the bar area.

That also produced one of the more unusual props tables we've had.

The pool table.

Covered over and loaded with props, it gave us loads of space and put the Mirror directly into an area guests were naturally passing through.

And it worked. Really well. In fact, the guest flow in the bar was probably better than it would have been in the original position.

A Huge Opening Rush

As soon as we opened at 6:30pm, the Mirror went crazy.

The bar position meant people could see what was happening, grab a prop and get involved without having to disappear away from the rest of the wedding.

Later, when the main room opened, that initial rush naturally slowed as guests spread back around the venue.

That's normal wedding flow. The important thing is being somewhere visible enough that guests can come back when they want another photograph — and by the end of the two hours we'd produced 95 prints from around 80 guests.

Craig Had a Request

Then the groom decided he wanted something we hadn't planned.

Craig asked us during the wedding if he could have a Spider-Man print design.

Luckily, when you spend years creating custom designs, you build up quite a collection. We already had a Spider-Man design from previous work, so we were able to add it straight into the live session there and then.

That's probably one of the best examples of what we mean by custom everything. Sometimes the design request arrives months before the wedding. Sometimes the groom asks for Spider-Man while the Mirror is already running.

Last 30 Minutes!

With around half an hour left, the DJ announced to the room that guests had just 30 minutes remaining to get onto the Magic Mirror.

It was a useful little reminder after the wedding had spread into the main room and gave everyone one last chance to come back for another photograph.

Final result: 95 prints in two hours.

Hog Roast Yorkshire

Food for the evening came from Hog Roast Yorkshire, with hog roast served alongside chips and roast potatoes.

Exactly the sort of food that makes sense on a wet Yorkshire wedding night.

Fairfield Manor Is Now on VenView

We also used our first visit to capture Fairfield Manor for a new 360° VenView tour.

And this one moved quickly: the tour wasn't simply captured during the wedding — it was created and live before the event had even finished.

Working a real wedding also gives us information an empty venue tour can't. We now know how guests actually move between the bar and main room, where the Mirror worked particularly well and how the spaces change once an evening reception is underway.

That's what makes our VenView venue captures useful to us: we're not just looking at the space, we're actually working inside it.

Four Hours of Weddings. No Venue Power.

Fairfield was also part two of a very real test we've been running with an industrial portable battery system used in TV and film production.

The previous night's two-hour wedding started with the battery at 90% and finished at 80%.

We then used the same system for Craig and Jacqueline's full two-hour booking at Fairfield Manor and finished at 70%.

We're still treating this as real-world testing rather than making promises about runtime, but it opens up something genuinely useful: more freedom to position the Mirror around guest flow instead of letting the nearest plug socket decide where it has to go.

Final Thoughts

Craig and Jacqueline's wedding had plenty that made it its own: a properly rainy arrival, around 80 guests, 95 prints, an unexpectedly brilliant bar position, a pool table covered in props and a completely unplanned Spider-Man request from the groom.

We also left with Fairfield Manor captured and live on VenView, plus another two hours of real-world portable-power testing completed.

Sometimes adapting the plan doesn't just solve a problem. Sometimes it gives you a better setup than the original plan would have done.
