On 28th August 2026, we headed to Delta Hotels by Marriott York for Ryan and Rachel's wedding celebration — our first ever event at the venue and the start of a very busy two hours with the Magic Mirror.
There were only around 53 guests.
They still managed to leave with 93 prints.
And somewhere between the custom designs, the dance floor, Peter Andre and discovering that the actual wedding had happened the day before, this small celebration developed plenty of personality of its own.
Quick takeaways:
- Ryan and Rachel's wedding celebration at Delta Hotels by Marriott York.

Our First Event at Delta York
This was our first time working at Delta Hotels by Marriott York, so we arrived around 15 minutes early to give ourselves plenty of time.
There was just one slight problem.
The wedding breakfast was still happening.
That meant we couldn't actually get into the room straight away and spent around 20 minutes hovering outside while the guests finished before we could get in and get ready.
Once we were in, though, the location worked brilliantly. The Magic Mirror sat right beside DJ Richard and the dance floor, keeping everything together in one compact room.

53 Guests. 93 Prints.
A smaller wedding doesn't necessarily mean a quieter Magic Mirror.
Ryan and Rachel had around 53 guests, but across the two-hour booking we produced 93 prints.
That's roughly 1.75 prints for every person in the room — before you even consider that plenty of those photographs contained several guests at once.
It stayed busy throughout the evening, with people coming back for different combinations of friends, family, props and photographs rather than simply having one picture and disappearing.
A smaller guest list certainly didn't mean a quiet Magic Mirror.

Four Designs for One Wedding
Ryan and Rachel didn't have a generic print template with their names dropped onto it.
We created four different layouts for the wedding, including a filmstrip design, eucalyptus styling and designs incorporating the venue and its gardens.
Rachel was particularly specific about wanting one of the venue-based designs she'd previously seen from us at a wedding fayre.
That's one of the reasons we don't try to make every wedding look the same. What one person loves isn't necessarily what somebody else would choose — the important bit is creating something around what the couple actually wants.
For Ryan and Rachel, that meant giving guests several completely different ways their finished photographs could look while keeping the whole set personal to their wedding.

From the Delta Gardens to the Finished Print
One of the designs used the Delta York gardens as part of the artwork.
That makes the finished print more than simply a photograph with a date underneath it. The venue itself becomes part of the keepsake guests take home.
Being at the venue for real also meant we could photograph those same gardens during the visit — the real location, the artwork inspired by it and the finished wedding print all connecting back to the same event.
Right Beside the Dance Floor
Our position for the evening was directly beside DJ Richard and the dance floor.
In some venues that could potentially mean spending two hours trying to talk over a massive sound system. Here, the room was relatively small and the speakers were appropriate for the space, so the volume worked really well.
More importantly, guests didn't have to leave the party to use the Mirror. The dance floor, DJ and photographs were all happening alongside each other.
Then Peter Andre Came On
Every wedding eventually produces one moment you couldn't have planned.

The song came on.
One of the lads apparently decided this was his cue to start removing clothing.
We can't confirm that this is the traditional choreography, but it certainly added something to the evening.
Apparently the Wedding Was Yesterday
At some point during the evening we were given another useful piece of information.
Ryan and Rachel had actually got married the day before.
So while everyone at Delta was very much celebrating a wedding, the legal bit had already happened on Thursday.
That made Friday the chance to get everyone together, have the party and celebrate properly — which, judging by 93 prints from 53 guests, they managed rather successfully.
A Few Details from the Evening
Alongside the custom print artwork, one of the details that stood out was Ryan and Rachel's yellow heart-shaped wedding cake, surrounded by matching cupcakes.
Their welcome mirror carried their names, the York location and the date of the celebration, while the room itself kept everything close together around the dance floor.

Working with the Delta York Team
The wedding coordinator was Tom Bros-Lakin, helping everything come together for our first visit to the venue.
The photographer was @swiftly_creative, who was genuinely lovely to work alongside throughout the evening.
And right beside us was Richard on DJ duties, keeping the dance floor going while the Mirror stayed busy next door.
It's always useful on a first visit to come away knowing not only how the venue works, but also having had a good experience with the people working around us.
Capturing Delta York for VenView
We didn't leave Delta York with only the wedding photographs.
As this was our first event at the venue, we also used the visit to capture the spaces for a new 360° VenView tour.
That's particularly useful when we've actually worked a wedding there. We now know where the Magic Mirror fitted, how guests moved around the room, where the DJ and dance floor sat and what access to the space was like while a real wedding was underway.
A venue tour can show what a room looks like. Working there tells us how it actually behaves once the guests arrive.

Final Thoughts
Ryan and Rachel's celebration proved again that guest count doesn't tell you how busy a Magic Mirror is going to be.
There were 53 guests and 93 prints, four completely different custom designs, a packed little room beside the dance floor and enough repeat visits to keep us busy for the full two hours.
It also gave us our first proper experience of Delta York and the opportunity to capture the venue for VenView while we were there.
And if nothing else, we've learned that apparently Mysterious Girl can still make somebody start taking their clothes off in 2026.
Tell us your venue and wedding date, and we'll help make your evening just as memorable.
