If we had to choose two hours for a wedding Magic Mirror, we’d usually start around 6pm and finish around 8pm.
That catches the people who have been with you all day and the evening guests arriving for the party.
Why Not Wait Until Everyone Is Partying?
Because there’s a sweet spot before the wedding becomes full-on party mode.
The daytime guests have earned a bit of first-class treatment. They’ve done the ceremony, photographs, meal and speeches. Then around the usual 7pm evening arrival time, a fresh group walks in and discovers the Mirror too.
Fill the Dead Zone
One of the most useful times for the Mirror is straight after the wedding breakfast and speeches.
There can be an awkward gap: people head to the bar, wander outside or disappear to their rooms. Giving them something new to investigate keeps the energy moving.
We normally like some breathing room after the expected food and speech finish, because weddings run late. Guests seeing us setting up isn’t necessarily a bad thing either — it creates curiosity.
Later Isn’t Always Better
A wedding day changes gears.
Let’s go to the wedding → let’s have a drink → let’s eat → let’s party → let’s get properly carried away.
By very late evening, photographs can become less flattering, guests may already be very drunk, and we’re competing directly with the DJ and dancefloor.
There’s nothing wrong with madness. We see plenty of it. But if you only have two hours, we’d rather catch the transition into the party than arrive after everyone has already gone through it.
One Rule: Watch the Important Bits
We have a strict rule: no Magic Mirror photographs during the first dance or cake cutting.
Those are wedding moments. Your guests should be watching them, not us.
Should You Automatically Buy the Longest Package?
No.
The biggest package might be better for our invoice, but that isn’t how we recommend an event. If the shorter option is right for your guest count, timings and plans, that’s what we’ll tell you.
