Some wedding open evenings are about numbers.
This one was about quality.
On 1 July 2026, we returned to The Bridge Hotel & Spa for a relaxed wedding open evening, meeting around 30 couples, catching up with brilliant suppliers and showing how flexible our Magic Mirror really is.
As it was the final open evening of the year at The Bridge, we decided to make it a proper one. We brought the Magic Mirror, the Magic Mini, the Magic Mobile, our new Moment concept for testing, instant prints, props, a 360° venue tour and, because England were playing DR Congo, we even had football running on the mirror screen.
A Wedding Open Evening At The Bridge
We have always enjoyed working at The Bridge, and open evenings like this show exactly why.
Around thirty couples attended, which might sound smaller than a large wedding fayre, but the conversations were far better. Everyone there already had a genuine interest in the venue, which meant people had time to stop, ask questions and properly look at what each supplier offered.
This was also the final wedding open evening of the year for us. We usually attend around four to six carefully selected venue open evenings each year, so we wanted to finish by bringing almost everything we offer.
For us, that is often far more valuable than a packed room where couples rush from stand to stand collecting leaflets.

Why Smaller Open Evenings Can Be Better
Big wedding fayres have their place, but venue open evenings are different.
Couples are not just browsing. They are imagining their own wedding day in that exact space.
That makes the questions better too. We were asked about prices, availability, the Magic Mini, our full-size Magic Mirror, instant prints and even our newer ideas like Moment and VenView.

Working Alongside Brilliant Yorkshire Wedding Suppliers
One of the best parts of open evenings is catching up with suppliers we know and trust.
This evening we were alongside Lottie Roberts Flowers, Sound Division PM with Colin, and Martin Hilary Photography, as well as Simply Amazing Designs and Treasured Occasions.
That supplier mix makes a real difference for couples. They can see how everyone works, ask questions in a relaxed way and get a feel for the people who could be part of their wedding day.
Open evenings are also a great opportunity for suppliers to catch up with one another. Strong working relationships between photographers, DJs, florists, venues and entertainment providers often make wedding days run more smoothly, and couples benefit from seeing that teamwork long before their wedding arrives.

Unexpected Ways To Start A Conversation
Earlier in the day, we posted a story saying something along the lines of:
"I bet you can't put football on a Magic Mirror."
So naturally, we did.
With England playing DR Congo, we had the match running on the mirror screen. It worked brilliantly. A few of the blokes were drawn over straight away, and it became the easiest conversation starter of the night.
That is the point of the Magic Mirror. It gets people looking, laughing, talking and interacting.
Sometimes that starts with props and prints. Sometimes it starts with England on the screen.
The Magic Mini, props and instant prints were all on show during the evening.

Testing New Ideas At The Bridge
Because it was the final open evening of the year at The Bridge, we wanted to make it feel a little different.
The football on the Magic Mirror was only part of it.
We also demonstrated one of our latest AI features, creating World Cup winner-style images in seconds.
It was not the sort of thing most couples expect to see at a wedding open evening, but that was exactly the point. It showed how flexible the system can be and gave people something unexpected to talk about.
For us, wedding open evenings are about far more than showcasing our products. They are where we test new ideas, refine our software and see how real couples react to features before they become part of our everyday experience. Whether that’s AI image generation, interactive venue tours or new concepts like Moment, evenings like this help shape what Yorkshire Magic Mirror becomes next.

Quality Was The Biggest Talking Point
The strongest reaction of the evening was to the quality of what we do.
People noticed the finish of the kit, the screen, the prints and the way everything worked together.
We are proud of that because we build and develop our own equipment rather than simply buying an off-the-shelf mirror and turning up with it.
In fact, we actively tell couples to compare us with other companies.
"Don't just take our word for it. Go and compare us with everyone else."
Look at the build quality. Look at the photography. Look at the print quality. Look at the software. Look at how the whole experience is hosted.
We are confident in what we do because we have spent years improving it.
Instant Prints Still Matter
The football got people over, but the instant prints still got the reaction.
There is something about holding a real print in your hand that still works at weddings.
Phones are brilliant, but a printed photo feels different. Guests take it home, stick it on the fridge, keep it in a memory box or laugh about it the next morning.
That is why instant printing remains such a big part of our Magic Mirror experience.
Using The Mirror For A 360° Venue Tour
One of our favourite little moments of the evening came while one groom was waiting for his partner.
Rather than just leaving him standing there, we loaded a 360° tour of The Bridge onto the Magic Mirror and let him explore the venue using the touchscreen.
That is where our VenView idea really comes into its own.
The Magic Mirror is not just a photo machine. It can become an interactive display, a venue tour screen, a conversation starter and a way of showing couples something they were not expecting.

After the event, The Bridge treated the suppliers to a proper roast dinner.
No photos. It did not last long enough.
But it deserves a mention because it says a lot about the venue. When a venue looks after its suppliers, the atmosphere is better, the relationships are stronger and everyone wants to do a good job.
It is one of the reasons we always enjoy returning to The Bridge.
Why Open Evenings Are Worth Attending
If you are planning a wedding, open evenings are absolutely worth your time.
You get to see the venue dressed, meet suppliers in person, ask proper questions and picture how everything could work on your day.
You also get to spot the difference between suppliers who simply turn up and suppliers who genuinely care about what they are offering.
For us, this evening was a perfect example. Good conversations, strong supplier energy, couples asking the right questions and a few unexpected moments that made the night memorable.

Final Thoughts
This was not the biggest wedding event we have ever attended.
But it was one of the better ones.
Around thirty couples, proper conversations, brilliant suppliers, all four products on show, England winning on the mirror screen, AI World Cup trophy images and a roast dinner at the end of it.
Thirty couples, fantastic suppliers, four different Yorkshire Magic Mirror products on display, a bit of football, some AI experimentation and a roast dinner to finish the evening. We couldn't have asked for a better way to round off our final wedding open evening of the year.
Tell us your venue and date and we will help you choose the right Yorkshire Magic Mirror experience.
