The Bridge Hotel in Walshford is one of those venues we always enjoy coming back to — and their wedding open evening on Thursday 16 April 2026 was another great example of why. Steady footfall, relaxed conversations and a room full of couples exploring ideas for their wedding day.
Open evenings are a bit different to weddings. They’re not about packed dancefloors or big party moments — they’re about helping couples see what’s possible.
For us, that meant showcasing the Magic Mirror, The Mini and our Magic Mobile setup, all in one place.
Quick takeaways:
- Steady flow of engaged couples throughout the evening.
- Lots of questions around availability and cost.
- Suppliers loved seeing The Mini and Magic Mobile in action.
The Setting – The Bridge Hotel
The Bridge Hotel works really well for wedding open evenings because the layout feels easy and natural. Couples can move through the venue, meet suppliers, ask questions and get a proper feel for how their day could come together.
The staff are a massive part of why this venue works so well. They’re helpful, relaxed and genuinely make suppliers feel welcome.
And yes — they even let us make our own cuppa.
The Setup in the Ribston Suite
We were set up in our usual spot inside the Ribston Suite, just to the left of the main door.
It’s a perfect location for an open evening because couples naturally pass through the area as they arrive. There’s no need to drag people over or interrupt conversations — they can stop, look, ask questions and try the mirror in their own time.
Why this spot works
- Visible as couples enter the room
- Enough space to show the full setup properly
- Easy to chat without creating pressure
- Great flow for an open evening environment
For events like this, placement matters. You want to be seen, but not feel pushy — and this spot gets that balance right.

Showcasing The Mini and Magic Mobile
This open evening was a great chance to show that we’re not just standing still.
Alongside the main Magic Mirror, we also had The Mini and Magic Mobile with us — two products we’ve designed and built ourselves to give couples more options depending on their venue, space and guest flow.
The reaction from other suppliers was brilliant. There were a few proper “Harry Potter magic” moments, with people genuinely shocked that we’d created yet another product this year.
That’s always the reaction we want. Not because it’s flashy — but because it shows couples and suppliers that we’re building things differently.
What stood out
- The Mini caught people’s attention straight away.
- Magic Mobile helped show how flexible the setup can be.
- Suppliers were genuinely surprised by the design and build.
Conversations With Couples
The evening was very steady, with no rush or pressure. That gave us time to have proper conversations with couples rather than quick passing chats.
As expected, the main questions were around:
- Availability for their wedding date
- Cost and package options
- How the setup works on the day
- Which option suits their venue best
There were also a fair few people just browsing — the usual open evening tyre kickers — but that’s part of the process. Sometimes people need to see it, understand it and then come back later when the timing is right.
That’s why events like this matter. They plant seeds.
Working Alongside Great Suppliers
The Bridge always attracts a good mix of wedding suppliers, and this evening was no different.
- SoundDivisionPM bringing the music
- Lottie Roberts Florist adding the floral detail
- Martin Hillary Photography capturing the evening
- Treasured Occasions Decor styling the space
For couples, that supplier mix is what makes an open evening useful. They’re not just seeing individual services — they’re seeing how the full wedding day could come together.
