Some events are a little different.
The annual Families Together Event at Meadow View, near Rossington, was one of those events.
It was not a wedding.
It was not a corporate party.
It was not a birthday celebration.
It was a community event built around people, families, entertainment and support.
And for us, the job was simple.
Bring the Magic Mirror, make it work for the event, and support the needs of everyone attending with patience, care and respect.
Live entertainment kept the event buzzing throughout the afternoon.

Our First Visit To Meadow View
Meadow View is a purpose-built mini village near Rossington, created to support people with additional needs in a safe, welcoming and carefully managed environment.
This was our first time attending the Families Together Event, which is held annually, and it was clear from the moment we arrived just how much work had gone into the day.
Jayne from Meadow View organised everything for us, and the team were brilliant from start to finish.
They made sure we had what we needed, kept things moving, and created a day that felt busy, buzzing and respectful.
Those three words probably sum the whole event up best.
The Magic Mirror Inside The Hive
Our Magic Mirror was set up just off the main field inside The Hive.
It was not the biggest room, and it worked more like a store room than a polished function space, but that did not matter.
We had one door in and one door out, so the flow needed to be managed properly.
That is where experience matters.
At some events, the setup is about making everything look glamorous.
At this event, it was about making the experience work properly for the people using it.
Across the full four hours, the Magic Mirror stayed busy.
Not just quick bursts.
Not just a little bit of interest.
It was more than steady for the whole afternoon.

Keeping The Print Design Simple
For the print design, the instruction was to keep things simple.
So we created a Meadow View print design rather than anything too heavily themed or over-complicated.
That was the right call for the day.
The focus needed to stay on the event itself, the people attending and making sure the photo experience was easy to enjoy.
Sometimes the best design choice is the one that does not get in the way.
Simple props ready for a fun afternoon.

A Full Afternoon Of Entertainment
The entertainment at this event was next level.
There were no long gaps.
There was no dead space.
There was always something happening.
Across the afternoon, guests enjoyed traditional Zulu dancing in full dress, Indian drummers, a live drummer, two singers, DJ entertainment, PA and karaoke from Nighthawk Disco.
It gave the whole event a proper festival-style feel while still being managed carefully for the audience.
That balance is not easy, but Meadow View got it right.
Live drumming formed part of the packed entertainment programme.

Respect Came First
This was an event where sensitivity mattered.
We were working with people who needed to be supported properly, and that meant the Magic Mirror experience had to be handled with care.
For us, that means being patient.
It means not rushing people.
It means understanding that every guest is different.
It means managing the space properly.
And it means respecting privacy.
For that reason, this blog does not include photographs of residents or attendees. The images focus on the venue, entertainment, suppliers, setup and atmosphere of the day.
Looked After From Start To Finish
One of the things that stood out was how well everyone was looked after.
The Meadow View team made sure suppliers had what they needed, and we were even fed from anything that was on offer throughout the day.
It sounds like a small thing, but it says a lot about the way the event was run.
Everyone was part of the day.
Everyone mattered.
That is exactly the sort of atmosphere you want at a community event.
The Meadow View team looked after everyone throughout the day.

Supporting Inclusive And Charity Events
At Yorkshire Magic Mirror, we are best known for weddings, parties and venue events, but the Magic Mirror can work in many different settings.
The key is not treating every event the same.
A wedding needs one style of hosting.
A corporate event needs another.
A community event like this needs something different again.
It needs patience.
It needs awareness.
It needs respect.
And most importantly, it needs suppliers who understand that the event should be shaped around the people attending.
What mattered most at this event
- Respecting the needs of the audience.
- Managing the Magic Mirror experience calmly.
- Keeping the setup simple and accessible.
- Protecting guest privacy.
- Supporting the event without taking over the event.
Already Talking About Future Events
Around 150 people attended the Families Together Event, and the Magic Mirror was busy throughout the full four hours.
After the event, Jayne mentioned that Meadow View would like us back for their Prom and other future events.
That means a lot.
For us, the biggest compliment is not just somebody saying the setup looked good.
It is being trusted to come back.
Especially somewhere where the needs of the people attending matter so much.

Final Thought
The Families Together Event at Meadow View reminded us that entertainment is not just about being loud, flashy or centre stage.
Sometimes it is about fitting into the day properly.
Sometimes it is about giving people a moment they can enjoy in their own way.
Sometimes it is about supporting the needs of the event rather than forcing a standard setup into every space.
That is what we tried to do at Meadow View.
And we were proud to be part of it.
