Some wedding fayres are good.
Some give you a few promising conversations and leave you feeling that the day was worthwhile.
Then there are days like Allerton Castle.
On 13 September 2026, we joined Wedding Fayres Yorkshire for their wedding fayre at Allerton Castle.
By the time we packed away, there was no real debate about it: this was easily our best wedding fayre of 2026 and probably the best wedding fayre we have had in more than two years.
The venue was spectacular. The atmosphere was brilliant. More than 100 people came through the doors. And, most importantly, the quality of the conversations was exceptional.

70 People Through the Door in 30 Minutes
The first indication that this wasn't going to be a normal Sunday came almost immediately.
Within the first 30 minutes, around 70 people had already come through the doors.
The count later reached 86 and eventually went beyond 100 before keeping track became fairly pointless. Allerton Castle was busy.
But footfall alone isn't what made the day.
It was the quality of the people stopping to talk. Couples weren't simply walking past, picking up a leaflet and disappearing into the next room. We had proper conversations about weddings, what guests actually enjoy and the different ways our products can work together.
Seventy visitors came through the doors in the first 30 minutes, and the total eventually passed 100.

Allerton Castle Is Quite a Place to Exhibit
There are wedding venues where you have to work hard to find the photograph.
Allerton Castle isn't one of them.
The architecture, staircase, woodwork and scale of the rooms make the Castle feel dramatic before a single supplier has set anything up. With a wedding dress positioned in the Great Hall, it looked spectacular.
We also captured the Castle from the air, giving us a completely different view of the building, grounds and setting.
It is difficult to imagine a more dramatic setting for a wedding fayre than the Great Hall at Allerton Castle.

Three Different Ways to Capture the Wedding
For this fayre we brought the Magic Mirror, Magic Mini and Yorkshire Magic Memories, including Memories Live.
The Mini went down particularly well, while Memories continued to give us a completely different conversation with couples who want photographs, videos and voice messages collected from their guests' own phones.
Memories Live also ran well throughout the fayre, showing how that guest-created content can become part of the event itself rather than simply something to look through afterwards.
What is becoming increasingly obvious is that these products don't need to compete with one another. They capture different parts of the same wedding.
- Magic Mirror — hosted entertainment, props and instant 6×4 prints.
- Magic Mini — a physical place for guests to stop and leave personal audio and video messages.
- Yorkshire Magic Memories — photographs, videos and voice messages uploaded directly by guests.
- Memories Live — turning those uploads into a live visual experience during the event.

19 Prints Doesn't Tell the Story of This One
The Magic Mirror produced 19 prints during the fayre.
On its own, that number would tell you almost nothing about how successful the day was.
A lot of visitors stopped, looked through what we offer, listened to the explanation and had a proper conversation without necessarily jumping onto the Mirror for a free photograph.
And for us, that's absolutely fine.
A wedding fayre isn't a competition to see how many free photographs we can hand out. We are there to meet couples, understand their wedding and show them why our experiences are different.
Judged on that basis, Allerton Castle was exceptional.
The Booking Potential Was Exceptional
We never count a booking until somebody actually books.
But there is also a point where you know a conversation has gone far beyond somebody casually asking for a brochure.
By the end of the Allerton Castle fayre, we had at least three conversations that felt extremely strong, with the realistic possibility that five or six bookings could eventually come from the day.
That is why this felt so different.
The room wasn't simply busy. The people we spoke to understood what we do, engaged with the products and could see them working at their own weddings.
A Brilliant Supplier Atmosphere
Wedding Fayres Yorkshire were represented by Ebony, Amanda and Choi, with suppliers spread throughout the Castle.
Our immediate neighbour was Adrian Salamon, The Yorkshire Magician, and the wider supplier line-up included Laura Lindsay Styling, Tim Hardy Weddings, Taste Cuisine, Focus Photography, Ben Cummings Photography, Exclusive Entertainments, Derbyshire Photography, The Event Music Company, Black Sheep Photography, HG1 Cakes, Eva Mae Jewellery, Lee Call Photography, Bianca Violin, Occurelle Wedding Planning, Valentina Photobooth, Suit One Suit All, Gadore Floral Art and Something Reloved Bridal.
There was even a small bit of emergency supplier tech support during the day when another exhibitor's QR code failed and we ended up printing a replacement for them.
That's the sort of tiny moment that sums up a good fayre. Suppliers talking, helping one another and enjoying the day rather than simply guarding their own little patch of floor.

We Created an Allerton Castle VenView Tour Too
As well as exhibiting, we captured a new VenView 360° tour of Allerton Castle.
For us, VenView is particularly useful at venues like this because a single photograph can't really explain how the rooms connect or how different spaces feel once you're standing inside them.
It also means that when we return to Allerton Castle for a future wedding, we have a much better reference for planning the setup before we arrive.
Combined with the drone photographs and everything we captured inside the Castle, we came away with a proper visual record of the venue rather than simply a few photographs of our stand.
Probably Our Best Wedding Fayre in More Than Two Years
We came away from our previous Wedding Fayres Yorkshire event at Hodroyd Hall absolutely buzzing.
A week later, Allerton Castle somehow topped it.
This wasn't just our best wedding fayre of 2026. Looking back over the last couple of years, it is difficult to think of one that has delivered the same combination of atmosphere, visitor numbers, quality conversations and genuine booking potential.
More than 100 people through the doors matters.
Seventy in the first half hour is a brilliant statistic.
But neither is the reason we'll remember this one.
We'll remember it because the conversations were brilliant.

Final Thoughts
The alarm started the day at 5:45am.
Several hours later we were packing away from what had turned into one of those rare wedding fayres where almost everything seemed to click.
A spectacular venue. More than 100 visitors. A frantic first half hour. Brilliant couples. A great supplier atmosphere. Magic Mirror, Mini, Memories and Memories Live all doing their jobs. A new VenView tour. And some of the strongest potential bookings we've had from a fayre in a long time.
Hodroyd Hall gave us an incredible start to the autumn and winter wedding fayre season.
Allerton Castle raised the bar again.
