Some weddings warm up slowly. Maisie & Georgia’s wedding at The Milner York? It started as a party and somehow kept getting bigger all night.
Around 90 guests, huge atmosphere from minute one, and one of those rooms where you just know the dancefloor isn’t going to stay empty for long.
We brought our DSLR-powered Magic Mirror, fully hosted as always, ready to keep guests entertained between drinks, dancing and everything in between.
Quick takeaways from this wedding:
- The Milner crowd understood the assignment immediately.
- Mirror placement made all the difference.
- Energy never dipped — constant queues all night.
The Setting – The Milner York
Where we set up
We positioned the mirror near the bar inside the side room alcove — honestly the perfect spot. Not in the darker main space, but right where guests naturally gathered throughout the evening.
This placement meant guests constantly drifted between drinks, chats and mirror photos without ever feeling pulled away from the party.
Top tip: at The Milner, the alcove near the bar works brilliantly. It keeps the energy flowing and makes the mirror feel part of the room rather than an add-on.
Party From Minute One
Some weddings build slowly. This wasn’t one of them.
From the first hour, guests were already fully involved — laughter, dancing, photos, repeat. The mirror barely had a quiet moment all evening.
Highlights we won’t forget
- A Pilates instructor casually doing the splits mid-photo.
- A perfectly executed V-pose assisted by a very supportive friend.
- Guests returning again and again for “one more”.
When guests feel relaxed early, the photos get better and the atmosphere carries all night — exactly what happened here.
