The Sun Pavilion in Harrogate is one of those venues that naturally creates a good atmosphere — and Natalie & Alex’s wedding is a perfect example of that.
Around 75 evening guests, a relaxed crowd and a setup that just worked from the start.
We were there with our Magic Mirror capturing everything as it happened, alongside Colin from SoundDivisionPM on music and Mark Hooper Photography covering the day.
Straight away, you could tell this was going to be a good one — no fuss, no pressure, just a really easygoing wedding with a great couple.
Mirror Placement – One of the Best Spots
We set the Magic Mirror up at the top of the stairs near the main entrance, which worked perfectly.
It meant we were slightly away from the bar and dancefloor, but still right in the natural flow of guests arriving and moving through the venue.
Why this worked so well
- No congestion around the bar
- Guests saw it straight away on arrival
- Space for groups without crowding
- Kept the setup clean and easy to access
At venues like the Sun Pavilion, getting the placement right makes a huge difference — and this was one of those nights where it just clicked.
Props ready — the mirror was set up early and ready to go.

A Relaxed Start That Built Naturally
The evening started fairly steady — the dancefloor took a bit of time to get going — but that’s not a bad thing.
It gave guests time to settle in, grab a drink (with no bar queue, which is always a win), and ease into the night.
Once things picked up, people naturally moved between the dancefloor and the mirror, which kept everything flowing nicely.
That kind of build works really well — it never felt forced, just natural.
The Mirror Was Busy From the Start
One thing that stood out straight away — the mirror was busy pretty much instantly.
No need to encourage anyone. Guests saw it, understood it and got involved.
The best moment? Natalie & Alex jumping on the mirror themselves — that always sets the tone for the whole night.
What we saw all night
- Guests jumping straight in
- A buzzing, busy setup from early on
- Plenty of repeat visits
Once the couple get involved, everyone else follows — and that’s exactly what happened here.
Working Alongside Great Suppliers
We were working alongside Colin from SoundDivisionPM, who was here for the first time — and did a great job.
He read the room well and let the night build at its own pace, which suited the crowd perfectly.
We also worked with Mark Hooper Photography for the first time. From what we saw (and what he told us), the whole day had a really chilled feel — which carried straight into the evening.
That kind of supplier mix always helps — everyone just getting on with it and making the night work.
