Lizzie and Kev's wedding at Parsonage was one we'd been looking forward to for a long time. After meeting them at the Selby Town Hall Wedding Fayre back in March 2024, they told us they'd chosen Yorkshire Magic Mirror because, after seeing plenty of other photo booths and mirrors, they simply felt ours was the best.
It's always a huge compliment to hear that, and after more than two years of waiting for their wedding day to arrive, it was brilliant to finally be part of it.
This was a two-hour Magic Mirror booking for around 90 guests, but with excitement building before the evening reception, we actually opened the mirror around 30 minutes earlier than planned. Guests were already gathering and keen to get started, so there was no reason to keep them waiting.
Despite the World Cup Final taking place later that evening and many guests leaving early to catch kick-off, the Magic Mirror still produced an impressive 171 instant prints, proving just how much fun everyone managed to squeeze into the evening before football took over.
Quick takeaways:
- Summer wedding for Lizzie & Kev at Parsonage, York.
- Around 90 guests.

- Two-hour Magic Mirror booking.
- Started around 30 minutes early as guests were eager to begin.
- Booked after meeting us at Selby Town Hall Wedding Fayre in March 2024.
- Bright summer sunshine throughout the evening.
- A complete VenView 360° tour of Parsonage was also captured.
- The Party Pantry served incredible mini pancakes.
- The World Cup Final saw many guests head home early, creating a very unusual wedding evening.
The Setting – Parsonage
Parsonage is one of those venues that always makes us feel welcome. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn't have been more friendly, making setup relaxed and straightforward before the evening celebrations began.
With bright summer sunshine filling the grounds, it was also the perfect opportunity to capture another complete VenView 360° venue tour, allowing future couples to explore Parsonage exactly as guests experience it on a real wedding day.
Inside, Lizzie and Kev had created much of the décor themselves, giving the venue a really personal feel, while the beautiful decorative trees supplied by Treasured Occasions completed the room perfectly.
Just outside, guests were also treated to one of the biggest talking points of the evening — The Party Pantry, serving freshly made mini pancakes covered with an incredible choice of toppings that seemed to have everyone heading back for seconds.
Parsonage looked fantastic in the evening sunshine.

The Setup – Just Off the Conservatory
For this wedding we positioned the Magic Mirror just off the conservatory, giving it a fantastic location that naturally caught guests as they moved between different parts of the evening reception.
It was open, easy to spot and gave plenty of room for groups to gather without blocking the flow of the venue.
Because guests were already beginning to arrive around the setup area, we made the decision to open the mirror roughly thirty minutes ahead of schedule rather than leave everyone waiting.
It turned out to be exactly the right decision, with the first groups jumping straight in and helping build a great atmosphere before the football inevitably began to steal everyone's attention later in the evening.
Why this setup worked so well
- Highly visible from the conservatory entrance.
- Easy access for couples, families and groups.
- Bright natural light from the summer evening.
- Plenty of space for guests to gather comfortably.
- Easy to open early once guests were ready.
- Kept the Magic Mirror as part of the evening rather than hidden away.
Meeting Lizzie & Kev Two Years Earlier
Some weddings feel like they arrive in no time at all, but this was one we'd been waiting for since meeting Lizzie and Kev at the Selby Town Hall Wedding Fayre back in March 2024.
After looking around at plenty of other suppliers that day, they came back to us and said they'd chosen Yorkshire Magic Mirror because they genuinely believed we were the best.
Comments like that never get old.

171 Prints Before Football Took Over
The evening actually started brilliantly.
Guests were ready before our official start time, so rather than making everyone wait until 7pm, we opened around thirty minutes early and let the fun begin.
Groups quickly formed around the mirror and the atmosphere built exactly as we'd hoped.
Unfortunately, there was one thing no wedding supplier could compete with that evening — the World Cup Final.
As kick-off approached, a noticeable number of guests headed home to watch the match, making this one of the quieter second halves to a wedding we've experienced.
Even so, we still produced 171 instant prints, showing that those who stayed certainly made the most of the evening.

A Brilliantly Friendly Crowd
One thing that definitely stood out throughout the evening was just how friendly everyone was.
Lizzie and Kev were genuinely lovely to work with, and that same friendly atmosphere carried throughout their guests.
Although there were a couple of children enjoying themselves, this was mainly an adults' wedding, with plenty of friends making the most of the props before disappearing to catch the football.
One of our favourite group photographs came when Kev squeezed in alongside five of his mates for one of those classic wedding photos that somehow just works.
It was relaxed, good fun and exactly the kind of atmosphere we love working in.
One Guest Took Their Job Very Seriously
Every wedding gives us one moment we'll remember long after we've packed the van away.
This time it belonged to one of Lizzie's friends.
Armed with a toy gun, she stood completely focused on the Magic Mirror, carefully aiming at it with absolute commitment as though she was protecting the entire room.
The concentration on her face made everyone nearby laugh.
It was one of those completely unexpected moments that no amount of planning could ever create.
The evening quickly filled with laughter and great reactions.

Working Alongside Great Suppliers
It's always nice arriving at a wedding and recognising familiar faces.
David from YorkMix Radio was providing the evening entertainment, while the decorative trees from Treasured Occasions helped frame the room beautifully alongside Lizzie and Kev's own handmade décor.
Outside, The Party Pantry quickly became one of the busiest places at the venue, serving fresh mini pancakes with an incredible range of toppings that seemed to disappear almost as quickly as they were made.
Working alongside suppliers who genuinely enjoy what they do always helps create a relaxed atmosphere, and this wedding had plenty of that.

Capturing Another VenView Tour
While we were at Parsonage we also completed another full VenView 360° tour of the venue.
The weather couldn't have been much better, with bright sunshine making both the exterior and surrounding grounds look fantastic.
The venue team were incredibly enthusiastic about the finished result and loved seeing how the immersive tour allows future couples to explore the venue before they've even booked a viewing.
Capturing VenViews during real weddings gives couples a much more authentic experience than empty marketing photographs ever could.
Our latest VenView 360° tour begins outside the venue.

Final Thoughts
Lizzie and Kev's wedding wasn't the busiest evening we've ever worked, but it didn't need to be.
The combination of a genuinely lovely couple, welcoming venue staff, brilliant fellow suppliers and 171 instant prints still made it a fantastic wedding to be part of.
We'll also remember it as the wedding where the World Cup Final emptied half the room, yet somehow still couldn't stop everyone enjoying the Magic Mirror before kick-off.
And, of course, we'll never forget Lizzie's eagle-eyed friend, standing guard with a toy gun like the Magic Mirror was the most valuable thing in Yorkshire.
Some weddings are remembered because they're huge. Others are remembered because they're full of personality. Lizzie and Kev's was definitely the latter, and we're delighted they chose us all those years ago at Selby Town Hall Wedding Fayre.
Tell us your venue and wedding date, and we'll help make your evening just as memorable.
